Thank you for your interest in our products. Here are the key differences between Nebula X1 and Nebula X1S:
1. Brightness Upgrade
The optical engine has been upgraded from three laser units to four laser units, increasing the brightness from 3,500 ANSI lumens to 6,000 ANSI lumens(in Conference Mode). This significant improvement allows for better performance in various lighting conditions, making it ideal for both home theater and outdoor use.
2. Color Gamut and Coverage
Both X1 and X1S use BT.2020 color gamut technology, but with different laser units that affect color performance in distinct ways:
-
Nebula X1 uses NUMB22 laser units with a green laser wavelength of 525nm, achieving approximately 110% BT.2020 color gamut range and 98% coverage of the standard BT.2020 color space.
-
Nebula X1S uses upgraded NUMB42 laser units with a green laser wavelength of 530nm, achieving approximately 106% BT.2020 color gamut range (in Vivid Mode) and nearly 100% coverage of the standard BT.2020 color space.
In practical terms, X1S delivers better color fidelity due to its superior coverage rate.
3. Liquid Cooling System and Noise Level
The noise level has changed from 26dB to 28dB, primarily due to the increased brightness (6,000 vs 3,500 ANSI lumens), which leads to higher power consumption and greater heat dissipation requirements.
However, both 26dB and 28dB are extremely quiet, comparable to or quieter than a library environment (around 30dB), and are almost imperceptible during normal viewing.
In practical use, you won't notice any difference between 26dB and 28dB during normal viewing. Whether you're watching a late-night movie in your bedroom or enjoying a film in your living room, both X1 and X1S operate at noise levels that won't disturb your viewing experience or others around you.
4. Official Certifications
Since X1S's core brightness parameters have fundamentally changed (from 3,500 to 6,000 ANSI lumens), according to TUV compliance requirements, the certification mark obtained under X1's lower brightness parameters has automatically become invalid and cannot be directly applied to X1S.
However, X1S fully inherits X1's well-received core advantages, including eye protection technology architecture, liquid cooling system, IEA 5.0 intelligent adaptation system, and 4.1.2 surround sound system, with no compromises in key performance dimensions such as hardware-level blue light protection, global anti-flicker, diffuse reflection imaging, spatial adaptation, intelligent obstacle avoidance, and auto screen fit.
X1S is certified with ISF and Dolby Vision, ensuring professional-grade color accuracy and premium HDR performance. These certifications guarantee that X1S meets the highest standards for image quality and color reproduction.
